EPD - Environmental Product Declaration - è certificazione ambientale di prodotto, in particolare di tipo III: riporta dichiarazioni basate su parametri stabiliti che contengono una quantificazione degli impatti ambientali associati al ciclo di vita del prodotto calcolato attraverso lo studio LCA Life Cycle Assessment.
La EPD è sottoposta a un controllo indipendente e presenta in forma trasparente caratteristiche rilevanti e impatti ambientali del prodotto.
Sviluppare una ED permette all'azienda di misurare e ridurre l'impatto ambientale dei propri prodotti. Approcciare per ciclo di vita i prodotti permette di sviluppare anche ragionamenti di innovazione e progettazione ed ecodesing.

Clicca per approfondireLa Carbon footprint di organizzazione (CFO) consiste nella quantificazione e rendicontazione delle emissioni di gas climalteranti a livello aziendale, un calcolo puntuale ed esteso a tutto il perimetro secondo standard accreditati a livello internazionale. L'impronta è riferita all'esercizio aziendale annuale, e misura dove e quanto una Organizzazione realizza la sua "impronta di carbonio".
Sviluppare una Carbon footprint di Organizzazione permette di approcciare una progettazione su più esercizi per la riduzione delle emissioni da un lato e per estendere il calcolo delle emissioni a monte e a valle dei confini aziendali dall'altro.
